So tonight

I’m napping after getting home, waiting for dinner to be ready, and the dog comes in, nuzzles into my armpit, and rests his head on my shoulder. I can feel his breath against my cheek, and as I drift off almost to sleep, the dog makes the special preparedness to nap sound: Breathe, breathe, Breathe, SIGHHHHH…

So I nap.

And the daughter walks in the door.

And the dog goes from full-blown napping to “BROWWWWW!” in 0.08 seconds. IN my ear. Without even lifting his head.

Them select comfort matresses hurt when you clench your buttcheeks around ’em.

I think I got all of it out. Still itches a little.

Any cubs fans out there?

Sox fans will remember my comment about their chances, here.

Any cubs fans who want to see their boys win this year, I can make a similar prediction, for the right amount of cash. And of course I will still need those lederhosen- though much smaller ones than previously required.

extreme mowing

Friday I mowed the backyard. This may not seem like a huge deal. Anyone who has SEEN the backyard knows what I mean. it’s a farging cliff.

Used to take me a day, and it required help. Now I can do it in about an hour, by myself. And I’m barely huffing and puffing.

In other news I’m wearing size 46 pants. From 54s, not so long ago.
