at Baby Troll Blog suggests we start assembling, peacibly, to try to encourage change. A “movement”, he calls it. I agree. However, with few, if any, exceptions, the downfall of any movement is the reluctance of the most qualified to lead it. Leading me to put forth the Rule of Movement Leadership:
In any “movement”, no matter how noble or ignoble it’s intentions, there can be only three types of leaders: the devious, who choses leadership for the power it provides, the reluctant, who is qualified but must be pressed forth into service for he will not volunteer, and the fool, who thinks he is being done an honor, but is actually being ruthlessly encumbered.
I asked Mr Alger to provide exceptions to this rule, and he did, and I think they are the exceptions that prove the rule. For the most part, I believe I am right; “Movement” is exactly the same as “Union” for the good it does in the long term. They both engender the same type of corruption and overall bullshit.
Saturday EVENING, after a nice meal at Benihana (Ogwife and I both love teppan cooking) we thought “the only thing we need now, is a little container of flavored creamer, to take back to the room and have with coffee we made in the in-room coffeemaker”. So we went on an epic journey that included driving through the big D, in a time when you don’t want to BE in downtown detroit. So we drove around for two hours, and finally ended up at a Kroger, and as we were finishing up, the single gayest human being on earth checked us out.
now, I have some pretty sensitive gaydar, and have rarely been wrong- but this guy would have set off my Mom’s Gaydar, and we had had thanksgiving dinner with my cousin and her girlfriend several times before mom “got it”.
Anyway. The Ogwife said “Now that’s gay turned up to 12”. THe guy was incredibly nice, even went so far as to borrow a “Kroger card” from another customer to save us 52 cents on our purchase, polite, pleseant, and efficient. And gayer than a forest filled with treeloads of monkeys. God keep him.
Apparently my traffic has gotten to a point where the hosting company wants me to get my own server. I have no farging idea why I have this kind of traffic all of a sudden, and I damned sure can’t pay $99 a month for my own damned server. Anyone has any suggestions, leave them in comments.
