I’ve always been a Mifune fan, and though I barely speak enough Japanese to be polite, I love the culture.

I’ve spoken of this before- the japanese were once a feared and hated enemy of the United States, and an island nation barely the size of Montana managed to terrorize our entire country. And we defeated them, using horrible tools. And we learned they have a fascinating and complex culture, in many ways radically different from our own, but in many ways strikingly similar. The Japanese seem to value strength, and honor, and decency, and respect for Religion, similarly to Americans.

At least, that’s the impression I get based on their cinema. I’ve just finished watching “Samurai 2: Duel at Ichijoji temple” one of, arguably, Mifune’s best films. In it he’s a samurai posessed of mythical strength and ability, who is haunted by his desire to posess a true samurai soul, delicate and sensitive.

The “Samurai” trilogy is incredible, and I hope, someday, to be able to watch it without subtitles.

Mifune died in 1997. A great man with an incredible legacy.

This is a straw man argument, you don’t know me. In fact I’ve spent FAR more money paying for my own education than most people do. I’ll likely continue paying for that education until I retire. I just realize that there are people out there that need and deserve some of my money more than I do (Like refugees of the recent Chinese earthquake for example).

Voluntary. Not mandated by people tho think they know better where that money should go. Take a hard look at some recent tragedies, for instance, and see where that money came from. Most of it voluntary, most of it from people who have their brains mounted in their heads, and not jammed up their asses.

And let’s talk about straw men for a moment. No, wait, let’s not. Because you know the term, but you don’t understand it’s proper application, so you are too ignorant to deserve discussing it.

Me, myself, and all the people who read this blog, and trust me, I know them pretty well, will pony up for people in need- REAL people in need- and do so without thinking of the cost to them personally. Norway is a great example of a country where socialist policies have created an environment that is safe healthy and fair for everyone. There are plenty of other success stories out there.

No matter if those others they seek to help are deserving of my help, or wouldn’t be better helped in some other manner, the bozons who advocate socialist policies are predominantly first-water morons who have no concept of the fact that all socialist policies fail.

As for me “missing” something, the only thing I’m “Missing” is the cash that liberals threw at people like you, who have made it through the socialist indoctrination camps public schools without the slightest idea what happens in the real world.

And now, to the “Empathy” bit. Because I know what ’empathy’ actually means, unlike you, Dave, I see the ways that people can be helped to rise above their situations and move on, rather than becoming slaves of a socialist public welfare system that allows them to exist solely to support a socialist ruling class who believes itself above the law, and above them. And I help those people, when I can- as does everyone I know. Please check for yourself, and come back when you realize that EVERY meaningful civil rights fight and every meaningful reform that has worked has been emplaced by conservatives, and we’ll discuss removing you from the Fucktard Friday poster.
