The exploder is misfiring. It may be bad gas. It may be a fouled spark plug. All I know is, it has decided it doesn’t like it’s spot in the nice warm heated garage, so it will sit outside until it decides to behave, or it is warm enough to work on it. In the meantime, I will be driving the Van, which will probably appreciate being parked indoors. hell, IT started immediately, after being ignored ALL WINTER.
I will call it Van Til. Locals will get the reference. And I will drive the Van Til the truck is ready to go again.
In reality, there needs to be some work done to the truck, and I had been planning it a while- but this just accelerates it. I want to fix exhaust manifolds etc, and this will allow me to think hard about making all that happen properly. I fully intend to get another 200,000 out of the truck.
There’s supposed to be somewhat of an ice storm here in DFW today. Considering nobody here owns a snow shovel, snow tires, or tire chains, this area will pretty much shut down til tomorrow afternoon, when it begins to warm back up.
As far as my day, I have a pot of coffee on and I’m waiting for 11:00am to roll around, so I can go to the animal shelter and help a little guy bust out of the place.
*Update*

We’ve broken the little guy out of the hoosegow. He’d been dropped off three days ago by a guy who’d lost his job and the poor pup is nothing but skin, bones, and a little bit of fur. Maybe 10-12 lbs. The guy who dropped him off told the shelter folks Patton’s mother was a Great Pyrenees and his daddy was a Yellow Lab, hence the tan coat. We were also told he’s exactly eight weeks old today.
Bear likes his new brother; the cats on the other hand…
*Update #2*
Patton has a serious case of the Hershey Squirts. Fortunately, he was in the yard when his asshole blew out.
Her birthday is coming up on the 8th.
Tomorrow, you’ll get to meet Patton. Her new, baby Great Pyrenees.
Any dog that qualifies as “fearless, and used to haul artillery over the Pyrenean Mountain range to and from Spain and France” is okay in my book. And yes, he’s a shelter dog, the same as Bear. Coming from the pound.
One other thing… Patton will be a daddy’s boy.

Patton at 7 weeks.
