I have been working with a belt I bought at Cabelas for some couple of years now, and it’s gotten to the point where it’s rugged.
On a fat old guy, belts tend to roll readily, and this one was no exception. it was getting to the point where it was almost a rope.
A new Cabelas belt was about $39, and the new weren’t even as nice as the one i had. They’re all made from that bonded leather crap now.
So I went to Tandy on my way home tonight and got a nice piece of 1.750″ Latigo leather, and some sex bolts. I’m tired of halfass belts that fall apart, and now I have one that would have made a nice piece of harness leather. I bolted the belt together instead of sewing it, and used four bolts where most big belts use two. The buckle is a roller that would make a good carabiner. I burnished the edges and put it on.
If they made a holster for a Ma Deuce, this belt would hold it up.
