October 2010

Well, first, I decided to take a mental health day

Not for my mental health, mind you, that’s fucked.

I still had to finish the driveway, but I had to get the weeds cut first, which required that I replace the hosed hose. Turns out that Home Despot sells them, so I bought two. Good thing because the one in the leaf blower was blown too.

So I weedwhacked the balance of the drive, blew the weeds and dust off, went out and bought four MORE buckets of tar, and finished the drive.

That sounds pretty easy, doesn’t it?

Would that it were.

Then there was the lawn, which I thought I had gotten for the last time. Pitiably, I had not. But I had to belt the damned thing, and so I went out and bought TWo new 30 dollar belts, one to use and one as a spare.

This is the time of year when I usually button down the place for the winter, but this year it’s been very difficult to keep up, what with IMTS and being assigned to a long term project some great distance from the house. So each weekend is a scramble to make ti all happen. Good to see the backside of that one.

What a day!

Spent a good part of the day helping a friend fix the brakes on his Isuzu Rodeo, an easy but time consuming job, helped along by the expertise and comedy stylings of Ed Hering, who was born to wrench. Since I’m not a Jeep guy (Or for that matter a Rodeo guy) his advice re the Isuzu front spindles was invaluable. The exploder just has cartridges that you change.

Now I got to go get those filter kits for the weedwhacker. More later, if I survive.

Ed, by the way, has a BEAUTIFUL Mossy 44 (though it might be a 42) one way or another, it’s sick nice. And I am insanely jealous. Ever feel one of these that hasn’t had the magazine release buggered? this one is SILK SMOOTH.

Damn.

Almost thought about trying to convince him it was dangerous, and he should leave it at the house for safekeeping until I could dispose of it properly.

YAAAY!

Got to Pick & Pull early, pulled a window, and have it installed on the Exploder already!!

Now to get new filters &etc for the weedwacker and leaf blower, and help some people with cars, and get the driveway sealcoated!
