was on the Don & Roma show this morning. Bruce and Dan filling in for Don and Roma, they asked him a few more stupid questions than Don or Roma would (Or at least Bruce Wolf did, Dan Proft has a bit more maturity) but their questions about foreign policy obviously rang his bell (Since Luap’s foreign policy has long involved sticking his fingers in his ears and saying “LALALALALALALALA”)and when Proft suggested (and correctly so) that there was and is a growing issue about islamofascists Luap’s response was “Maybe a couple hundred thousand of them”
??????
The boy really IS from mars. And he doesn’t know bruce and Dan from Adam, either; so when he snapped back with “What YOU want is a HOLY WAR!!!”
Really, luap? Really? You never, ever spoke with these two men before ninety seconds ago, and they bring up the real and credible threat of global islamicization, and you immediately know they’re bucking for a holy war? Really? then he actually said
“How about all those Christians that do bad things!!”
Look: In case you’ve been under a rock, torturing, murdering, or subduing people is not Christian behavior, and at no point in the core of Christianity is this acceptable. if you profess to be a Christian, and you do those sorts of things, you’re a bad Christian. The argument can easily be made that by doing those things you demonstrate that in fact you are NOT a Christian; a Christian doesn’t engage in that behavior (This is one of the reasons I still like the Catholic Church; unlike most Christian sects, if you fuck up, they throw you out. hell, they don’t even have to do so intentionally; certain behavior automatically separates you from the church, as every good catechist knows.)
On the other hand, if you spend your time torturing, murdering, or subduing people, it makes you a GOOD muslim, because those things exist at the core of islam and in fact define it. You can disagree with this, and you’ll be wrong. QED.
it was hard to take Luap seriously before, I mean, look at the campaign posters.

but now that his deliberately obtuse stance on these issues puts him in the same camp as those who put the ‘Coexist” stickers on their bumpers.
Morons.
have had me busy as a three peckered goat. So I have not been able to read what I want; I have only read 11 of the Discworld books, though I should be about 20 in by this time, if I had my spare time to myself.
But I have to say, here and now: if you can only choose one of these books, read Reaper man.
Good Lord.
I don’t know if it gets any better after this, but this is the crown jewel so far.
Maybe it’s because I like the character of Death so well, maybe it’s because I am a sentimental old fool. In any event, this is amazing.
Frankly, all it lacks is Johnny Knoxville pushing Bam Margera down an escalator in a shopping cart.
I’ve gotten a couple mails today about this.
Variously, people understand, or don’t get it at all. A lot of commentary about this is of the ‘See? Wallstreet is EVAL!!!” variety.
C’mon.
if you think for a minute the business world isn’t a cutthroat competitive clusterfuck where everyne is out for #1, you’re the definition of naive. It has ever been this way, and it will ever be this way. That cutthroat competitiveness is not what Wallstreet is about, it is the very engine of humanity.
Smith complains that Sachs isn’t what it used to be, and he’s probably right. At each turn, Government intervention has made it more and more difficult for people to do business of any kind. When business is tough, when times are tough, when the climate of the financial community is more interested in how to make money despite overweening and ridiculous intervention from the nanny state trying to make it “Fair” for everyone, guess what happens? People become territorial. people become less interested in the customer and more in the bottom line. People who used to plan their living on how much they helped other people are being portrayed as monsters,a nd are acting as the monsters they are portrayed. Those who would legislate fairness have driven the fairness out of the world, piece by bloody piece.
“Integrity means nothing anymore”.
Integrity never meant anything. Deal with it. Open your eyes and stare at the stark reality of truth. When your back is against the wall, you will say “Do it to Julia” without fail. And you will sell your birthright for your chance to stay alive.
This is were we’ve come. This is where the nanny state has brought us. This is what happens when the government gets to pick winners and losers.
it’s not hard to follow the trail from Carter’s housing executive orders to Clinton/Reno prosecuting Citibank for redlining to Barney Frank to Goldman Sachs being an unpleseant place to work. All of the people involved in this- and it certainly isn’t as if the Right is blameless, the named above are just the major players- did what they “believed” was best, and the banks and businesses did the only things they could to stay alive.
“I wouldn’t ever do anything like that. That’s wrong”.
Yes, you would. Everyone always does. The only way to stop this is to get the governments hands out from where they don’t belong, and that will never happen, the ticks always latch onto the biggest dogs.
