Nancy Pelosi is in a snit

because they didn’t strike down ALL of the Arizona law. Of course, they really only struck down the parts that duplicate Federal law, which is probably what they ought to have done anyway.

And now the Won has decided that the Federal law is null and void anyway, so wtf.

I wonder, do the meskin illegals understand that if they get work permits their employers will have to pay them legal wages, and they will no longer be desireable?

I hope they strike the healthcare law just so I can see Pelosi’s head explode during my lifetime. I ain’t holding my breath, but a guy has to have his dreams.

Digging over the weekend

left me with some sinus blockage the likes of which- No, no, it’s too terrible for even me to describe. (Shudder)

Anyway after having had grief breathing all last night I woke and snorted the sinuses out with the neti pot.

Oh. My. God.

I mean, there was mud. Dirt. grass. Brake shoes. gravel. Circus peanuts. Candles. Knives. Forks. Lanyards. Tylenol. Allen wrenches. Batteries. Screwdrivers. Gloves. TV remotes. Flashlights. Socket wrenches. Bones, none of them (as far as I can determine), mine. Plaster of Paris frogs. Real frogs. Pencil sharpeners, and more than a few spent shell casings.

Then I moved to the right nostril.

Holy sweet mother of God. Well, at least the zombie turtles are still resting comfortably in there.

Hope it helps the sinuses. If it just tones down the vertigo I’ll be in fat city.

There are not many people I know

that I think are worth the powder to blow them to hell with. As often as not people prove themselves to be- frankly, useless as tits on a boar.

When you do get to know people who are worth knowing, people who are capable of being “Neighborly” in the sense that they are there for you when you need them, as opposed to merely minding their own business, you tend to value them more highly.

They are out there. Most of us probably have our ten righteous men.

And because they are out there and they do exist, Humanity is worth saving. Because even though the breeding of the nation ordinarily throws curs, sometimes you actually get a champion.

And because of THAT, it is worth doing every thing that can be done, no matter how small, and even no matter how distasteful it might be to you personally, so long as it makes it possible for the good to survive, and even thrive.

We’re not looking for a “Level playing field”. That abomination has been thrust upon us not as a way to increase “Fairness” but as a way to make it possible for the weak to succeed. No, we’re used to it all being an uphill battle, because the Heroism of Persistence is in all of us; we beat ourselves against the adversity day after day, and rub our stiff joints and plaster up our scars and laugh about it and go on. We want and need the struggle, because we know that the very adversity we struggle against is the forge in which tough spirits are hardened. We don’t go out seeking painful accidents, poverty, drought, death or destruction, but we get them, and we rail against them, and as often as not, we win. We often remember that pain not without some degree of fondness because it helped shape us.

Most people reading this understand. And a powerful lot reading it have a strong Faith- a true faith, not the huckster’s cheap “Beliefs”. And they know that this faith means that though we live in a modern day Sodom, we will not be destroyed, for there are far more than ten righteous men.
