Which is not, by the way, made of silver or a size 7
is what I listen for when I listen to anyone.
I’ve spent an awful lot of my life in hotels, on the road, up late at night, whatever.
There have been plenty of times that all the entertainment that existed was the gospel station on the local TV affiliate. When i began doing this, it was rare for an individual to have a computer or a cellphone. it was almost unheard of for anyone to have a pager. I remember getting my first pager and my first Phone Card. I could get a page nationwide (well, not in a tunnel or in most buildings or in a hotel or in a big car) but almost anywhere outdoors, in most metropolitan areas, I could get a page, and find a payphone, and make a call without having to dig around for a lot of change.
Anyway, back in the bad old days, as now, I watch a certain amount of TV evangelism. Even the most miserable types occasionally come across with a word of wisdom here or there, and I’ll take inspiration where I can find it.
it doesn’t mean that I have any great love for any of those people, but the Creator opens my ears to the good things they have to say. That’s very nice.
Pay no attention to those hailstones falling behind you!
Saturday as I mowed we had a brief toad strangling thunderstorm, sending the dog to hide under the couch (the dog is almost as big as the couch, so this is no mean feat) and the weather map on my phone said ‘Clear and sunny”. it persisted in saying ‘Clear and sunny’ when there were obviously huge thunderheads drifting over my actual house. This morning it shows rain through the area, and the Weather Channel shows “Partly cloudy”.
They’re just guessing, and they’re not even looking out the window to see if their guesses are remotely accurate.
Explains a lot about the global warming bullshit.
