Several months into the kitchen project

and about a Brazilian trips to Home Despot, Maynards, a d the Lowes matrix later, I have finally discovered why the trips to the hardware store evoke memories of Pratchett books.

it’s because the stores have all been occupied by CMOT Dibbler.

I have not discussed

the whole Kenndy anniversary- I was never a fan of his and while I don’t think particularly ill of him, I’m irritated by the whole family, bunch of criminals that they are.

My ex and I visited DC toward the end of the Reagan years; we were both big fans of THAT administration, he was the first president we’d had a chance to vote for and we were damned proud of him. I often wish I had some of the pictures I took then.

Anyway, we visited Arlington. We saw the civil war headstones, the confederate soldier’s headstones are peaked so no damned yankees can sit on them. We saw the changing of the guard, I stood in rapt attention until my feet ached. And in an out of the way area, we came on a little round stone set in the ground with a little flame burning at it’s center. Nobody was around, and I didn’t realize the significance until I saw “John F Kennedy”.

I wasn’t, as I said, a particular fan. But I wasn’t a total dick, either. In any event, I bent down and lit a pall mall off the “Eternal flame”. So I can honestly say JFK was useful to me, even after his death. The Ex called him “President Ronson” therafter.

This is why I want a diesel.

I use Platinum plugs just so I don’t have to change plugs that often- if I didn’t I’d be changing plugs every couple months.

As is, they get swapped at about 100,000 miles- though I let these go almost 130,000.

The truck was older when I got it and I knew it had some issues. These are textbook plugs for the quarter of a million miles that are on this truck, it could use valve stem seals but it’s not worth the aggrivation. I load the new ones up with copgraf and put them in.

It sounds so simple, doesn’t it? I had sliced two knuckles open by the time I got to plug #2, and that was on the EASY side.

I am a little ashamed to admit that the batteries on my LED trouble light had crapped halfway through the “Easy” side and I did the hard side by feel, faster. Why can’t they bring the damned Hilux here? I LOVED that little truck.
