November 2014

The other night

while eating some chips, I dropped one, unknowing, on the floor.

Later, I came back, and it had been laying there for at least an hour.

And it dawned on me it was because there was no furry little lurker waiting to hoover it up.

You bet I cried.

thanks.

Not much more to say, really, but thanks.

I keep on keepiing on

I have three trees to get cut- hiring a service, I do not have the skills or ambition to do so myself, and I have a bucketload of other crap going on. I just want to get it all under wraps before winter sets in. Ed Hering visited for a while on Sunday, which made it relaxing, and he’s not offended when I talk with him but keep working. it was a very nice visit. I wish there were more time for that kind of thing.

I look sometimes at the vacant land behind the pond and think about having a small two story cottage there, a sort of a monks cell. I think I can live so cheaply as to be almost free. I don’t have any fantasies about “off grid” but the idea of minimizing my footprint appeals. Don’t think I can talk the wife into it though.
