but the show is (so far) going well- our “main” booth is having trouble because of a machine crash, the smaller systems I designed and built are running fine (crosses fingers) Anyone who wants to meet the Great and Powerful Og can show up at the International Machine Tool show at McCormack place, I’ll be standing next to two robots dressed like a fat Johnny Cash. Warning: I will try to sell you automation systems.
My feet are in such pain as I get out of bed, I have no idea how I’ll survive the day- but I will. Great day yesterday, and I look for a great day today. If I make it out alive.
IMTS begins in eight hours. Yeah, welcome to insomniac theater, I’m up and around because I’m in some pain, but also because I was unable to post earlier- no power till around midnight.
Anyway: the last bastion of serious machine tool hucksterism will begin soon. Billions of dollars are being spent, some of them as I type, and when the last crate is packed up some two weeks hence, trillions of dollars worth of business will have been conducted.
But, of course, the economy blows chunks, and it’s all W’s fault.
I’ll make snide comments from my cellphone on this post through the day. My dogs are barking and this has not yet begun.
Lest anyone think otherwise, i love the manuacturing industry, and the people I work for/with are the very best IN that industry. And the heartache of the show is ALWAYS worth the effort, because of the people you meet and the results. It’s just SUCH a drag while it’s happening.
