long time incapable of passing

For ages and ages I have always had cars. An escort here, a tempo there, a honda, a camry, a legacy.

People would sell me or give me their old crappy little cars, I’d make sure they had good brakes and thermostats and a tuneup, and pass them on to someone who needed one. I had this thing going on for ages. I moved a LOT of cars. Had I ever charged for them or asked for money I’d have made a mint- but that’s not what I’m about.

Now you can’t find a car. Oh, I can find any number of pickups, or SUV’s, but as the In Crowd looks at the numbers on the pump, they’re getting rid of those guzzlers and cutting back to the little junkers. I am surrounded by big trucks for sale cheap, but cannot find a little car to save my life- and I need two, right now., One for a friend who lives in Hotlanta, and another for a friend in Texas. And I cannot find bubkhis. Not even old rusty hulks. Anyone who has an escort that can be pushstarted and has three emergency spares expects to get $1200 for it- and they’re GETTING it.
