Babe Mueller, RIP

My wife’s ex-employer’s family patriarch has expired. Actualy, he died last friday evening and his wake is tonight.

Babe served in the second world war, on the battleship North Carolina. The USS North Carolina was one of the ships shelling Iwo Jima prior to the invasion.

Babe once told me, with tears in his eyes, that he stood at the rail of the North Carolina and watched the thousands of marines dying on the meat grinder of Mount Suribachi, and he prayed, and he wept, along with hundreds of his fellow seamen.

May God hold you in the hollow of his mighty hand, Babe. You deserve the finest the afterlife has to offer. I have known finer men, but the list is damned short.

Opie and Anthony suspended.

From Xm sattelite radio.

Fucktards.

Look: Freedom of speech is NOT ABOUT TELLING DICK JOKES, YOU MORONS. Freedom of speech is about political speech.
XM is a commerical enterprise that lives or dies on revenue. If something you say on the air is harmful enough that revenue drops off, of COURSE you are going to get censored.

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of the consequences of that speech- and nowhere is that more obvious than in the broadcast communication business. If you cost your company money, you will feel the consequences.

Jerry Falwell RIP.

Hey, he made a lot of Christians look like fools. He put a face on Christianity that liberals fear more than Islam. I’m sure Jesus is having a discussion with him about the nature of His Word.

But all that aside, he was a Christian. Maybe not a very good one, maybe a miserable one. The worst Christian on earth is better than the best muslim. Or Clinton, for that matter.
