yoiu find out a lot of interesting things.
I made the poor wife sit through “People will talk” a couple of weeks ago, and she decided to hunt up some other Carey Grant Movies. Last night she watched “Charade” and loved it.
I always have, too, Audrey’s flirty dialogue in “Charade” makes my pants fly around the room, I’ll tell you. But Audrey could read me the phone book and I’d be entertained beyond belief.
In her last film, “Always” she acts as a sort of a guide, helping the newly dead transition to the afterlife. I gotta tell you, if Audrey meets me after I die, COME GET ME NOW. In fact, I think I’mna reccomend “Always” to the wife next. I do like this a lot better than hearingthe strained applause of “Whose got America’s Next Dancing idol” coming from the next room.
No, I won’t watch “Always” with her. Between the dangerously petite Holly Hunter (Why is it that big guys always have a hardon soft spot for the tiny girls? ) and the ethereal Audrey, combined with Dreyfuss mooning around about never having been able to say “I love you” when he was alive, it’s just too hard to watch. But man, it’s another one of the movies that they don’t make many of anymore. Plus, John Goodman who is my brother from another mother.
And it was all luck, because skill and grace had nothing to do with it- I have been lucky never to have harmed myself more than I have, a few fractured bones and some scars, sometimes from doing some pretty stupid things (“Why aren’t you dead?” from the ER doc) but most of the time I was in condition enough to drive myself to the ER or even stitch myself up. I never hurt myself badly enough to merit being hauled off on a backboard, and that is a very good thing.
On the other hand sometimes the casts or wraps or splints were pretty confining, and each time I park my hiney in the smallest room in the house, I thank my Creator that I can still do so myself without anyone’s assistance, and I hope that situation remains the same for the rest of the time I’m using this body, worn as it is.
One day of bad weather and one snowblowing. Warm next couple days. It can be spring anytime now, that would be fine.
