Few things on earth are as satisfying as being a little achey at the end of a decent honest day’s work, climbing in to a cool bed with the love of your life, and getting a solid night’s sleep.

Pascal has a post up in which he talks about the lowering of the bar. Politics, he reminds us, have become so malignant that the parties have deteriorated (as demonstrated in the Dem debates tonight) that all they have to offer us is “We’re not them”.

Let’s ask for more. Let’s demand more than just the lowest common denominator. Let’s raise the bar. How do we do it? I don’t know. I’m trying to do it by raising the bar for my child; by teaching her not to surrender to the lowest common denominator.
