is the name of a little place in Lisle I like to go, but only maybe once a year.
The reason is, they make gyros.
Not just gyros, but deep fried gyros. Yep, the peel the meat off that doner kebab, and run it through the deep fryer for a couple seconds, just enough to sizzle the edges crisp. And the deep fryer takes on the taint of the gyros meat, so they have two fryers, one for fries only, and the other for everything else.
So about once a year I stop in and get a fried gyros sandwich, with dirty fries. Dirty fries are fries that have been fried with the gyros grease.
They have little pieces of gyros crispy fried stuff sticking to them.
They;’re as crisp themselves as sticks.
I could actually feel my arteries hardening. But once in a while, dammit, it’s worth it.
I do not own a Holland and Holland double rifle in 577 nitro.
Yes, yes, I know. It’s part of the code. I know if I was really serious about shooting I would, but I haven’t. So here’s one, if anyone has some spare change about and wants to correct this hideous atrocity for me. I just can’t be bothered. Yes, I know it’s ornate, but one just has to make sacrifices. At $198,000.oo, I’d have to sacrifice SOMETHING.
Makes a Merkel double at $10k seem a bargain, no?
I listen to 560 AM when I’m in the car every day. I get a LOT of interference. The Van gets almost none of this interference. If this were the other way around, if my 2m/440 radio was getting some interference, I’d know how to high pass/low pass it, but I don’t know what I’d do with an AM radio. A notch filter? Maybe around 60 hz? And how would I hook it in?
Anyone out there who is uber geek enough (Yes, Roberta, I’m talking to YOU, and Grumpy Old Ham, Too!) maybe you could point me in some meaningful direction.
