The blago jury

Has gone home for the weekend.

blah, blah, blah.

Let me direct you to this piece from Penn & Teller.

What is is that is actually going on in Illinois that the Blago trial is misdirecting us away from?

Like a drug deal, nothing changed hands, so they’re trying to get him on charges of bad intent, which is never going to fly; he’ll walk, especially as the jury is almost all female. Or he’ll get an impossibly short sentence. And be set for the rest of his life by the Machine, paid off for keeping the public eye on the Trial of the Year, while other nefarious shit goes down where the press isn’t looking. the light, as they say, is better on Blago.

let them eat shit!

And just hope they die!

From the unlikliest of sources.

Only the Japanese would invest money in research trying to figure out a way to make hamburgers out of shit.

BRAIINNSS!!

For some of us, very little would please us more than shooting it out against the zombie hordes while Woodie Harrelson clocks slack jawed yokels with banjos.

It’s always fun to engage situations where there is a clear good guy, and a clear bad guy. Most of us know who the good guys are (us, of course) and who the bad guys are (Duh. Them!) but until ‘They” start shambling around eating brains, we can’t shoot ’em.

The theme of the original film, of the remake, of Zombieland, is always clear to me, and less so to others, I don’t know why.
The zombies are here now, and they are eating our most valued parts, not because they nourish them, but because we value them, and it is more important to take from us than to nourish themselves.

Let’s look at that again: If there were only six “Zombies” the powers that be would still fight to take money from you, because it’s not about giving to others, it’s about taking from you.

The barbarians are already inside the gates. The zombies are in your own home. They’re not shambling through your yard dripping blood, they’re digging through your bank statements skimming off cash, not to help them, but to hurt you. This is Zombieland.
