The trouble is, good fresh fruit is only really fresh and good in a brief window, and in season.
I had relatives who ran farms where you could get blueberries, cherries, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, all that stuff. And those fruit would be so good, and then you’d eat it for the week and a half it was good, and get sick to death of it.
Frozen fruit does usually not thaw well, and canned stuff often has lots of added sugar and shit
So when Alton Brown did smoothies on Good Eats, I figured it was worth a try
And it was. I buy fresh frozen fruit at Aldi, where it’s cheap. I put it in a mixer at night, in the fridge, with some juice and skim milk. And in the morning I blend it and drink it.
Damn, this stuff is good. And the soluble fiber- well, let’s just say I’m just an old smoothie.
