Bad day at black rock

headed home tonight an early 90’s vintage Ranger passed me on the right, apparently ten over the limit wasn’t enough for him. I don’t care, maybe he had a deadline or had to shit bad. One way or the nother, a mile hence he lost his left rear and careered of to the right shoulder, a half mile long trail of sparks in his wake. The tire had no intention of sticking around for the police report, and headed on down the road; it changed lanes twice and when last seen was headed northbound towards Wisconsin.

Time was I’d giggle and figure he got what he deserved. Well, I giggled a bit, anyway. Today, though, I prayed a quick rosary and hoped the rest of his day didn’t go so bad.

Orneriness and rage

will take you places plain old muscle won’t.

Mr B dropped off a couple slices of log last week, each over 3′ in diameter and 18″ plus thick Not seasoned too well yet, still a little clingy to split- and damp. One will do service as my new cutting block, the other is already hacked into manageable size chunks.

Moving the one piece and hacking up the other was downright painful, but I was determined to get it done tonight, and did. I’m sure I’ll be paying for it by the time this is posted.

when it rains hard

As it is doing now, the new chimney cap and liner make a sound like a digeridoo.
