All grown up now

FOr the firest time in who knows HOW many years, the state of Indiana is allowing the use of high powered rifles (well, actually, pistol caliber rifles) to hunt deer. Today is opening day. The Marlin is in the truck. I will be walking afield with an actual rifle- and not a shotgun or muzzleloader- for the first time in my life. Hope some dumbass doesn’t mistake me for a deer.

Roadblogging

Hotels with no intetrnet acces both suck goat urine out of a dirty bottle, and give me a welcome reprieve from constant information overload.

So A mixed blessing.

Hunting all next week. May have to try to shoot a pheseant too, for turkey day.

Assuming, of course, I survive this afternoon and the clusters it promises.

Road trips are a riot, esp. when the wind makes your vehicle change lanes for no apparent reason.

A decision

and a compromise. I found this, and it’s gonna be my Christmas present from everyone.

Scroll down and look at the “American Whittler Slipjoint Kit”

it’s not exactly the blades I want, nor the shape, but I will be able to customize it somewhat to suit me, and that’s what I like most. I’ll post pictures of the construction. And it will be uniquely mine.
