Yesterday, 700 miles home from the frozen tundra of Canuckistan (actually, it was perfect weather every day) including three distinct and fierce thunderstorms, a cordial and decent US guard who waved us through with no incident, and a minimal amount of road construction.
Unpack the truck, pack the truck, and get a decent night’s sleep in my own bed.
A couple hours at the office to catch up on some mail, and then a 7 hour drive to rural Missou.
I’m beat. The hotel looks out on a horizon of limestone escarpments and rolling hills, the expressway roars below, sometimes drowning out the squeals of the kids in the hotel’s pool.
I can see a storm building off in the distance. Don’t know if it will come here, or swing to the south and ignore me. There’s a walk outside the room so I can’t leave the window open to enjoy the storm in any event.
Wife picked up the beagle atg the kennel today, I miss the little fart. I know it was tough on him being at the kennel when the storms went through, last couple of days. Hope he’s less upset now.
I’ll be pleased to be getting home when I do. I hope the job tomorrow goes well and quickly.
Light traffic in because I think there’s still a bunch of nimrods on summer vacation, but now I hit the road for another gig and hope it is a short one. I’d like to be back by the weekend.
