So after mass I went out to

$undisclosed location to look over some private land on which the landowner has offered to let me hunt, and I gotta tell you, what a DOOZY!

Whether i hunt there or not, this is a wonderful piece of land, and if i am lucky enough to get to hunt there, I will be very fortunate indeed. I still have incredible memories of hunting Mr James’ land, and I still owe him for his kind generosity.

One of the highest honors a hunter can recieve is the invitation to hunt private land, and I’m always honored to be asked.

Then I visited Mr B and Midwest Chick (Too late, alas, to meet with the lovely Brigid) to discuss the acquisition of some combustibles, and horse trading (and the occasional gagging by Midwest Chick at my references) began.

here it is

In comments to this post, Cond will either grow a pair, and answer the question I asked, or prove that he is a liar.

I guess I know which one is the case.

If you have a Kindle

And you love adventure stories, and you like victorian fiction, go to Project Gutenberg and download the H Rider Haggard books about Alan Quatermain.

I read them when I was very young. I re-read them- for free- on my vacation. Highly reccomended.

Quatermain has been portrayed well and badly, from Sean Connery to that idiot Richard Chamberlain, from Stewart Grainger to Patrick Swayze.

It has been my personal experience that with rare exception, the movie that plays in my head when I read a good book is far superior to anything Hoillywood can do. if this is your experience too, and you haven’t read these books, or haven’t read them in a while, read them now. You’ll appreciate it.
